Usability in Practice – Revamp of a Travel Web Site

Michael YungApplying usability principles to a live web site, is quite a different story to  applying to new projects, products and web sites. One has to cater for customers who are used to certain features, internal users who don't want to change the status quo and developers who have no clues on what to do next.

This presentation is about the tale of how  a travel company revamped their web sites in a year-long project.

Topics:

  • Measuring web site traffic and natural search performance to determine user behavior

  • Collecting user comments on areas to improve  on  live sites

  • Determining new web site features

  • Developing and testing new web sites

  • Rolling out new sites to loyal users.

Takeaways:
